This is a continuation of an earlier post.
I snapped a couple more pictures and thought maybe someone could identify where my linkage came from and give me an idea of how to make it better. I'm just not sure that there is a good way to put a spring on it............

Don't know if this will help or not, but my spring goes right back to the bracket the cable is on. Seems to work when the carb is working, which is my problem right now.

Can't really see the linkage/spring problem in your photos, but it's pretty easy to fabricate a simple bracket to anchor a spring to, and put it under an intake manifold or valve cover bolt, or somewhere similar. A piece of strap with a big hole in one end and a little hole in the other. Just have to figure out the angle and tension of the spring, so it works smoothly without fighting you.

:iagree: A hardware-store spring and a piece of flat-stock with a hole drilled in it will do the trick!

I think I may just have to play with the angle and spring combination.
As it is now it just doesnt return well and I think the angle may need to be a little steeper.
I saw that bracket under my dashpot I figured it had something to do with the stock setup.
