A little ticking noise from bell housing. What could it be?

    I replaced my clutch/pressure plate/ throw out bearing / pivot bearing/ resurfaced the flywheel on a T-98.

The pressure plate is about 1/2 inch longer than the old one.

When mating the Bell housing to the engine I had to use to bolts to have them mess together. Really tight. Old clutch did not do this.

Started up and made a really loud ticking noise from the bell housing.

Drove it about two miles and the ticking almost went away.

Now every time I start/drive the ticking noise is there. Putting in the clutch does not make a difference. In netral if I rev the motor is ticks faster. Sounds like it is the flywheel.

Clutch works great and the old one never worked as good.

    Clutch goes in easy.
    Shifts great
and holds like a mad man.

So everything is working for the clutch but just a ticking noise.

Do I need to be concerned about this??????

Thanks in advance for any help...

I don't remember if it was this forum, or the Early CJ section.
    Try searching?

My guess is that the new pressure plate is making contact with the bell housing.

    Grinsha minimally sufficient

Had teh same thing happen with my M38A1 when i put a larger clutcj in it. A couple of the rivets on the pressure plate were hitting the clutch fork.
