Hi guys, I need to lower my '75 CJ5 about an inch to clear the garage entrance in my Condo.

The truck currently has a 2 1/2" suspension lift with a 1" body lift. I think that removing the body lift would be the easest.

What do you guys think? See Pics. Can I just remove the pucks? The Pics are from the back moving toward the front.

Also, in the third Pic, where you can see the Suspension bracket and the puck looks fat and round, is that puck part of the body lift too?

    Thanks,

    Todd.

Deflate the tires maybe? Thats what I would do first. not all the way down, just enough to drop you that inch or so.

If you want yeh you can just remove the pucks.

Hi, ya, thanks, but I want the truck lowered all the time so I can take the truck in and out of the garage whenever I want without a hassle. Right now I have to remove the top. In the summer it clears because there is no top on.

How would I remove the pucks?

    Todd.

Yes, I would just remove the pucks. The only issue might be tire clearance, but you'd have to have 34s or 35s at least (I think) to need a body lift. Body lifts ar kind of pointless anyway (IMO).

The original cushion was a rubber disk about 2.5" in diameter and 1/2" thick.

Shouldn't be a problem with the tire clearance. I have 31's on it and a 2 1/2" suspension lift.

It also looks like the original cushions are still there. Can you confirm that for me from the pics in the original post?

    thank you,

    Todd.

Yeah, those look right, except for the front outboard (as best as I can remember). I think that one gets the same cushion as the rest.
