Thought the brakes were lite due to air but after bleeding and inspection found rear shoes gone, one front line cracked and all cylinders leaking. I had about 30% stopping power from the front driver brake only. White Knuckle driving to say the least.

Took it to my local shop and it's true - Master cylinder leaking, Pads all the way around, replace half the lines, all wheel cylinders, missing one front wheel stud, front bearings shot, steering stabilizer shot, drums need surfacing, and have it aligned. Oh and it was toed out 3/4".

Was told $600.00 for everything. Good or keep going? Don't trust myself for brake work of this extent.

Noticed the cylinders leaking and shoes were in pieces in the rear so I think everything is inline.

You can go to www.rockauto.com and add up the parts prices. I'd guess you'd get $250-300 for the parts you've listed. The balance being labor is probably ok.

Wow, it will be like driving a new jeep! For only $600. That sounds pretty fair to me. That is alot of labor if you were to do all the work yourself, plus you don't have to deal with broken or stuck fittings, dusty dirty parts, packing wheel bearings, ect., can you tell I don't like doing brakes?

True, they gave you the "COOL JEEP DISCOUNT"
If it was a LEXUS or something it would have cost you about $1,500.

That sounds right. I had the same problem this summer. I hit the brakes at a stop light and rolled right through the intersection. Scary.
