It should be easier than I am making it, but does anybody have any idea if there is a replacement thin-line headlight for a 66 cj5? --to remove the whole fat BUCKET the lamp sits in. I need to move my radiator (aluminum) forward a couple of inches, and the headlight buckets are in the way. I am running a chevy 307 and the PS pump is just rubbing on the radiator -- one good twist and pop goes the radiator. So I pulled it out and that is all I can think of to do. Anybody out there done this before??? Or have any good ideas?? I need just about 2 inches.

On a lot of the v8 swaps I've seen the builder just 'notched' the buckets to give the radiator some room. If your radiator is too wide for even that you can surface mount the headlight buckets on the grill (ugly) or find a different radiator. Maybe other members here have some other options. I've got a pic somewhere around here that shows headlight buckets notched for the radiator. I'll try to find it.

i'm doing this right now too. each bucket has 2 adjusting screws to aim the headlight beam. when cuttting the notch on the driver side bucket, it interferes with this adjusting screw (at least it did for me). the passenger side is not a problem as the screws are not near the notch. anyone else run into this? i havent put much thought into it, but i gotta come up with a way to keep this screw functional.

A fiend of mine removed the headlights, enlarged the openings, and placed Hella driving lights in. I think Dummy (member here) did it first, though, and popularity took over.
