Need help: ID this dist, please.

    I'm not sure if this is factory or not. I have almost zero experience with distributors. Need to get parts or a new one. My new weights didn't do the trick. The piece underneath them appears to be worn as well.

    Does it have a window in the cap to adjust the dwell? If so it's a Delco. If not, Prestolite.

    There should be plastic shims or sleeves available for the holes the weights sit in if that's what's worn.

    Well thats not a standard v6 prestolite distributor. It looks like a Delco and I can't imagine being able to put the prestolite cap on the Delco body. Please post a picture of your cap.

    It looks like a Delco cap, but from a much later model; like someone just stuck any old GM V6 cap on it. I'll try to post a pic this weekend.

    the cap you need has the window next to the mounting lug. the one from an I6 will fit, but the window won't line up.
