I am looking for a spare tire mount for my 72 CJ5. I would really like a rear mount (swing or stationary). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot.

The catalogs , particularly 4wd.com/vintage has the OEM style that bolted to the tailgate or passenger side (4 bolts). Don't know what the biggest tire it can carry is.

That's a re-make of the old Kayline carrier. Nice and sturdy, but they rattle like a SOB. I couldn't stand mine and took it off.

Old Blue... The Barnes CJ bumper/swingout looks like a good unit at a fair price. Are you running one?

I would try the one from 4wd.com, but it only handles up to a 31" tire. I called them and they said that it is pretty flimsy and couldn't handle that size tire with steel rims. I'll take a look at the other place.
    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for that info Steve. I was planning on that one too. I'll just build one instead. Mine won't require a swingout with the solid glass tub.
