Winshield Hinges

I have a new winshield frame to put in my 74 cj5 but I am unable to find
anyone that sells new hinges. Can anybody help me with this? Thanks

 

Did you search the old posts? IIRC they are the same from 1955-75 and are hard to find. Try posting in the WTB forum here.

I found one company a while back (Kaiser-Willys Auto Supply LLC) that sells them or at least they carry a part # for them. You won't like the price but here is the link:

They have them listed for model years 55-75 as right and left upper and lower and each piece is $55.00......OUCH!

I too have searched for new ones. I live down the road from KaiserWillys and also up the road from Turner Jeep in Atlanta, and both have had them. They found someone to fab for $100-$200 each.

Look for someone with a windshield for sale -salvage/boards and remove them from the frame. I found a windshield for $25 and cut the welds on the side and unbolted them. Then I put them on the grinder and removed the rust and scale and painted them up nice. Wellworth the $25 and hour of labor.

Added: Check the for sale board here, there is a guy parting out a 74 and 79 cj5 and has a windshield for $20.00 in MS.

Front or rear? You mean lenses or complete?

 

Try FNJeep in Colorado Springs for the hinges. They're a Jeep salvage place, and had a pile of them last time I was there. There's also Jeeps Unlimited in Fort Lupton, CO.

 

I was reffering to the chrome ring around the front turn signal lense.
