Anyone ever try to adapt R&P from Summit or a Pinto or Vega setup to an ECJ5? Wonder if it would work....

Yeh IIRC someone here bought their Jeep with it. Took it off imediately because of issues with toein/out changing with every bump. Not really feasable on a solid axled vehical in all actuallity.

I had the chance to see one installed on a jeep back in the late 80's. The owner mounted the rack on the front axle, then ran a slip yoke configuration for the steering shaft between the axle and the frame. Probably the single most dangerous home build I have ever seen.

the po of my 70 had it done, it actually worked out ok, no bump steer, really tight steering, the only problem was that he welded the bracket to the front diff cover. in order to remove the cover you would have had to remove the steering assy. i still dont know how the hell it didnt break.
