Here are a few pictures of my jeep. I finally have it in the garage at my apartment and I hope to get it out of the road this fall. Some people had asked about pictures of the engine and the pto/overdrive set up so I have included those as well as a few others.

I have a question about the last picture. Is that a factory drain/vent and cover or is it aftermarket? That is located in the driver’s side foot well right where the fuel tank and the side of the jeep meet. There is one located on the passenger’s side as well. It has a thumb screw in the middle so you can lock the drain/vent open or closed.

Hope you enjoy the pics. If you want anymore let me know. I am thrilled to be able to work on the Jeep now and this site is proving to be a great resource as I evaluate Jeep and plan repairs.

About your last pic. A buddy of mine had one on his 69' CJ5 and I always wondered the same thing. If they are available anywhere I want one. His was mounted in the floor on the drivers side. The passenger side did not have one.

By the way diesel JEEP = Awesome!

Thanks for the info on those hole covers. I didn't even see them until I starting cleaning out the years worth of dirt and oil that had packed into the foot wells. This jeep has been well used but is in pretty good shape, at least compared to the other CJs I have owned.

    Thanks again,

the drains are factory to my knowledge, my 61 cj5 has the exact same ones in the same place, drivers side and passenger.
