So I saw that some members on this forum have retrofitted the holly projection to their oddfire. I need some tips with this if possible.

Think we need a write up on this FI setup. I'd like to do it to Bamm Bamm one of these years.

I would like to know also, how to install and set-up FI on an odd fire 225 V6. What do you have to do from start to finish, what parts you used and what it took to run right. And, what kind of performance are you getting, was it worth it.

Yeah that would be great. I was quoted $1400 for an EFI setup for my motor. Seemed a bit high to me. If there's another way I'm willing to give it a go.

Back when I was planning on building a TPI injection setup for my SBC in my truck I did a lot of research on it (mostly forgotten now I'm afraid). This guy http://www.customefis.com/ seems to know just about everything there is to know about GM fuel injection. I have his DIY book I bought a couple of years ago, and it's actually a lot better than the fuel injection books I found in the usual places. His stuff definetly isn't cheap though. Waaaaaay out of my price range. But OTOH, you do get an FI setup designed and built just for your rig. He does have some Jeep specific applications, like MPFI for inline 6 Jeep engines, and he says any AMC V8 is his speciality. I have no connection to him, other than buying his book 3 years ago.

I have megasquirt running mine. I have been pretty happy with the performance and education I got researching and putting it in. I am still working on some of the bugs so my write-up will come after I have it running very reliably and without any bugs. I have probably put 2-3k miles on my jeep with it on and sure like the consistency of engine starts and running. It is far from a bolt on project though to do it right.

I know affordable fuel injection makes a bolt on kit as well. I think their kits run about $1k.

I have been told to use A holly projection throttle body but this is pretty much all I know. I know I need an intake manifold that I can install injectors in but I cannot seem to find one. I know I need a megasquirt. I know I need to fit my exhaust for an o2 sensor and I need a MAF.
What I really would like to know is what parts you used and the little things to expect. T
    Thanks for your reply.

You don't install injectors into the manifold. You are using a throttle body injection which has the injectors built into it. You can simply get a GM throttle body that fits a 4.3 v6. You will need a map, o2 and coolant sensor along with a fuel pump that will maintain 12psi. Then you use the megasquirt controller to operate the GM throttle body.

An analog Holley Projection kit should work just fine installing it as you would on any other engine.

The megasquirt system has the MAP sensor built into it. If you want to run port injection then you need to weld some injector bungs into a manifold and fit some fuel rails....but the easier way to go would use a 4.3 throttle body like McRuff said. In order to wheel and not have the engine die on you when the tank is half or 1/4 full you will want to put in a surge tank...keeps fuel to the throttle body all the time. Otherwise you would want a tank that was made for EFI that has baffles in it. Other things you will need to install are: 1. megasquirt computer 2. wiring harness for the EFI 3. TBI with home made adapeter as there are none commercially made (check out the ECJ5 PIC gallery) 4. TPS 5. coolant sensor (you will need two one for guage and one for the megasquirt) 6. MAT sensor 7. O2 sensor ( I recommend a WBO2 as it makes tuning much easier) 8. high pressure fuel pump (two pumps if you are using a surge tank). Get it all installed then start tuning.
