gear ratio

    Does gear ratio,have to be the same.I was told it did not have to be the same unless I would use 4 wheel drive.Is this true

    Gear ratio does need to be the same in 4 wheel drive. If they are not the same DO NOT place it in 4wd.
    Yank the front dive shaft to make extra sure you dont break something.

    Just curious J.McDavid, since you were/are involved in mud drags, is it true that some of the high speed 4WD mud racers use a slightly lower gear in the rear to keep the vehicle tracking strighter? I read that once in a magazine a few years back.
