Has anyone run across an online classic vehicle value guide that treats old jeeps fairly? My insurance company is asking me for an appraisal, but would accept some sort of blue book type value. whole thing is really BS I'm not even trying to buy full coverage. they asked on the application what the value was, and I said 5K (which I think is low) they basically told me to prove it. I would think it would be pretty hard to do online because of all the variables in modifications, condition, and market. but if anyone has any suggestions let me know.

Have you tried Hagerty? They insure my Jeepster and CJ. They have not asked for any "proof".

You could probably hire an appraiser. Another option is to find 3 or 4 listings of "similar" vehicles and the going rate.

    It's funny you ask,
actually I had the haggerty app. 80% filled out when the letter showed up from Allied with the appraisal request. So I finished the Haggerty application today, and will go that route if they accept it, I think they will, I have another vehicle insured with them now. My insurance broker told me haggerty might ask for the same type of thing, althought on the other vehicle they did not. by the way If I go the Haggerty route it's $114 a year for full coverage based on the 5k value. through allied it $107 for 6 months PL & PD only. both with same amount of liability coverage. Tough choice huh.
