stretching m38a1?

    Hello guys,i would like your help.
    I have m38a1 and i want to stretch the body about 6"-8" behind the door because i want to stretch the weelbase,front i have +2" and i do the same back.The problem is were is the perfect place to cut and witch is the right way to weld the body without problem after that(cut again)?. :?

    Art's right. The CJ-6 or M170 had a very obvious patch panel right where you're talking about. Should be fairly simple to copy the factory on this.

    FWIW, a CJ-6 or M170 was 20" longer than a CJ-5. The factory plainly stuck a patch panel in there.

    It will be nice idea.But I am afraid because it's hard row to hoe.I think we will have problem after that and I'm scared to cut the body.

    Selling it & buying a CJ6 or M170 would be easier, or if it's just a slightly longer wheelbase you're looking for, a later model CJ5 has a longer wheel base & CJ7 even better than that.
