Hi all. Bought a front hoop and spreader bars years ago that were supposed to fit my CJ-6.Of course the hoop is fine but the spreader bars are too short.Any suggestions on what to use and also which location is better.Inside, where they're out of the way of the head boink or outside which is a lot more structurally sound.

Do you have a softtop yet?

I have the Bestop version, and it's ~2" taller in the center than a 5 top - which means you can push the cage that much taller. I have the spreaders on the outside and even being 6'3" have no issues with "head boinking"....:)

You might have to go all custom with the cage in order to get that clearance though....

Ya,I have a kayline soft top from years ago and at 6 ft 5 I gotta watch out for the head boinken.Maybe on the outside mount of the bars when we do our jeep mount and dismount our heads get sucked down between out shoulders?

I just have to dip my head a bit getting in.

Here are some pics of the clearance between the softop and cage:

sorry, but I have absolutely nothing useful to add, but every thread that talks about 6's (not many) I read.

Then there's another B.C. boy! Awesome.

So I click on his sig http://www.shuswapwebcam.com/ and I'm treated to a nice sunny pick of that beautiful lake!... at 1am :) .... ummm the webcam ain't working... it should be black since it's night! R)

And to Mike, keep up the excellent blog work, I love seeing other sixes! we're so few and far between.

    (sorry for the wasted bytes)
