What all's involved in converting the rear drum brakes to disk, and what are the pro's/cons of it?

You have to find calipers, many use GM metric calipers. The mounts are readily available for those. You will need to find rotors that fit. I used zuk 4 door rotors. I didn't do anything with my master cyl. Probably would take care of my sponge pedal if I replaced it. IIRC the one to use is early vette. The work good as is and they are much easier to keep clean.

Disk brakes do not do as well as parking brakes as drum brakes so thats something to think about. also whatever caliber you choose it will have to have the parking brake built into it.

Hey JeepTherapy, What Caliper Brackets did you use? I like the way they bolt on. I'm guessing it's 2 piece?

I made my caliper brackets from a piece of 3/8 plate, that caliper is a jeep front caliper that I had a loaded set of. Many parking brake included calipers are available if that is important. I put my rotors on the outside of the axle. Many people put them on the inside.

I don't have working parking brakes on either of my jeeps. :(

The same parts used for the front disc swap will bolt onto the rear as well. You'll need to remove the residual pressure valve in the MC and install a 2LB wilwood valve in the brake line up near the MC.

That E-bay item is a Front 44 Dust sheild/Caliper mounting bracket.

You can pick up weld on GM Disc brake caliper brackets for the rear for under $10 at http://www.aa-mfg.com/pdshop/shop/category.asp?catid=3
