I did some searching in the knowledgebase, but did not find the info. I am after.

    68, cj5, dual brake switches, 225.

Issue: When I press the brakes, only the pass. brake light works. Turn signals work fine, so it's not the bulb.
    Both brake switches are hot.

    What may be the issue?

Unless you have 4 lights (ala corrvete), you have combo turn/tail/brake lights. the brake lights have a seperate filiment. simple fix is to switch the sides to see if they light up.

Turn signal filament is the same filament as the brake filament. If the turn signals work I'd say it's not the bulb but the wiring.

Right. It's not the bulb, since the directionals work. Just looking for help/advise on what/where to look in terms of the wiring.

I believe the brakes feed thru the turn signal switch, as the turn cancels the brake
maybe check/clean the switch wiring/connectors at the switch ?

I had the same problem with mine when I first bought it. I got underneath and saw lamp cord in the wiring and bought a new harness and just put it in. It was well worth the expense and trouble.

I have the same problem right now. It is pretty low on the priority list, but I have researched this site pretty well on the issue and I would guarantee it is a bad ground. I think for this, I am going to have to go through my brake lights and make sure the mounts are are grounded well against the metal. Actually, all the lights will need to be checked for proper grounding. Hope this helps!

Turn signal switch. Deep inside. Not hard to do, but watch for little springs and things.

Had a similar problem a few weeks ago with my front turn signal/parking light. Good parking light - no turn signal. Cleaned the connections - GtoG.

I vote for the TS switch also. Both TS work, so it most likely is not a ground.

TS Switch. It "interrupts the voltage going to the brake lights when your foot is on the brake pedal. It your case, it sounds like it permanently interrupted it. I think???

I think that the turn signal switch is the most likely culprit.

I wouldn't use WD40 on it, but I'd get a contact cleaner from Radio Shack (if they haven't gone bankrupt yet) or an electrical supply house.
