Two bits: First is there a photo anywhere, or can anyone take one, of an original dash layout for a 1973?

Secondly, I know I'm a blind bat on this, but where is the temp sensor on a 304 V8? The tech manual doesn't show where it is on the engine? basically I want to hook my wiring harness wire up to it.

Thank you! Project update pics soon...slow but steady progress. Thanks for the brake info, BTW.

Here are some '73 dash pics. This is a good '73 dash that I did have a buyer for, but interest seems to have waned...
A few extra holes have been repaired by a PO with screen and bondo, a fairly good job... see back side pics.

    Check with Springerfever.

He's posted pics of his pristine dash before. I found a thread that said it had pics, but they're gone now.

I'll try to get a hold of Springerfever, thanks, I'd like to fill the holes in correctly. As for the bull horns...the Jeep was getting way too serious, it needed some fun. It goes well with the flowers painted on the gas skid plate.

on the 304 the temp sender should be threaded into the intake manifolds coolent crossover...on the 258 it is mounted into the front of the engine...looks like this...it is easy to miss. I just rewired mine, PO had used the wrong type of wire, TSM calls for 18 ga..on the the 75..prb the same for your year...if your have the orig wire harness I think you are looking for a blue and yellow wire for the temp, white for the fuel, and solid purple for the oil. This changed on later models, on my 75 it is pink for the fuel, purple/white for the temp, and solid purple for the oil. you are looking for the top half of this somewhere where the coolent passes through the engine

forgot to add if you have an aftermarket harness, the quick check if they are hooked up is to just look at the color of the wire on the back of the gauge...one should be power (usually read) and the other some other color...it should be the same color wire that you find in the engine or on the gas tank
