Well still figuring out the Jeep a bit.

    1. The front locking hubs dont seem to engage or disengage. Meaning I cant turn them one way or the other. Any suggestions or tricks? I will provide a picture below.

    2. I was told the transfer case is a Dana 20. Not sure but it has one lever and goes up and down. From a diagram I found, it seems like 2wd-4wdhigh-neu-4wdlow. I cant seem to find all 4 spots though. It feels like 3. How can I tell if I am in 2wd, 4wd, or neutral. What is the neutral for? Towing? I read on here that you should keep it in 2wd.

    3. Pressing in the clutch all the way makes a grinding noise. I assume there is some kind of adjustment to be made. Has this been upgraded to a hydraulic clutch? Picture below. If so, how would I go about adjusting it so the grinding stops?

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the help. I am a noobie at this stuff, but love learning these new things!

The picture is of your brake master cylinder. The hubs should turn, I assume you see the arrows on them for engage/disengage. Maybe they're just dirty or stuck from not being used. The shift linkage is probably worn for your t-case. Does your rear driveshaft come from the back of the t-case directly behind the transmission or from the very right side: i.e. offset. 1st example is a D20, 2nd is a D18.

Your clutch noise description is typical of the throwout bearing noise. Does it do it only if fully depressed or as you can feel the resistance and throughout the motion?

hum. It the drive shaft looks like its coming from the right side. The clutch only grinds when all the way depressed.
