My exaust is about shot under my jeep , muffler keeps falling off ever since I tweeked it on a stump in a logging deck. Well I was going though my inventory yesterday and found a few tractor mufflers for some old 4cyl gas tractors.I figure the motors where VERY simular to the :hurrican: so why couldnt I run them. The last 2 mufflers Ive had were slightly bulky compared to the tractor muffler , plus I can buy the tractor muffler for less then a 20 spot. Can yall see a problem running one except for the fact Ill sound like a 8n or MF35 coming down the trail :D

Shouldn't be a problem if it fits.

I don't see any problem with it. There may be something I don't know about though but I have stuck all kinds of stuff under Jeeps for mufflers. Also, if you look at one of the cut up pics of a flowmaster and have any fab skills, you can make your own for just about nothing.

All a muffler is for is to restrict sound a maybe a little back pressure, but nothing that is really critical, So you should be able to put just about anything underthere for that purpose as long as it's not too restrictive, Right?

prolly gonna halfta throw the pics needed flag on the field here. we need to see this prospective muffler. seriously, if the inlet and outlet are large enough to accomodate the engine you should be good.

My first observation about tractor mufflers is that they seem to be made out of heavier material than a car muffler. The low mount muffler on my IH has been pretty good about not crushing in when I run over stuff. Tractor mufflers also seem to be pretty restrictive; the best thing for them is good ramming with a metal fence post if you can get to the baffles. That being said, I got tired of wearing ear plugs while riding my 6 cylinder Allis and got a DynoMax for it, which has a nice tone.

It should work fine and run pretty quiet. You'll probably like the thicker metal too.
