What Goes Here?

I am missing a gromet or rubber gasket of some type between the steering column & dash?

 

Factory had some type of welting type material.... I'm gonna use a pc. of @ .100 thick rubber wrapped around instead

 

I cut up one of my old military web belts, looks very close to what was in there.

 

yes welting I see it available at different places from time to time. I just use rubber(inner tube flap)seems to work.
