Plain old gauges tell me all I need to know. Honestly I don't know why you'd need it.

Give me some gauges also, I hate idiot lights since they don't give you the info unless something is really going wrong.

i tend to like gauges since i can see if something is becoming a problem before the light's threshold. gauges give me more information as to diagnosing the potential problem as well. having said that, i do have both an amp light and a oil light on my speedometer (stock) in addition to the map and oil gauges. ( just in case i need that additional "2x4" to the forehead warning".

    Good point guys.

However, it does have an audio alarm on top of the idiot lights. I was thinking this was good to have. Imagine your in some off road situation and your eyes are glued to the terrain and not your instruments. Be nice to have a backup when your attention is elsewhere.

I'm debating getting it tho as it's about $200 and change in American Dollars. :(

Many years ago I was involved with off road racing, and we ran a great big idiot light along with the gauges. The lamp was a warning for both oil pressure and head temperature (diode-ored), and was the size of a small turn indicator, and extremely bright. We located it practically in front of the driver's face. It cost about $10 to set up back then - not too much more now (I still run a similar setup on my VW sandrail).

X2. I can't stand idiot lights. That's why then call them that. They
can't tell you what's happening till it's to late.
