    :coffee: Well I dropped my bellcrank out of my '56 yesterday, to replace it with a NOS one. It's(NOS) not much better playwise that mine. Has anyone changed out their's to the bearing type that is available today? Was it a pain, did you lose your temper at least once, or knock skin off your knuckles, if not I may not try to change it.R) :beer:
    Gonna order the rebuild kit from Turner tomorrow. Any secrets to success? I have a PTO winch so a Sagy conversion is out of the question.

    I might want to go with the same conversion, since I also have a PTO winch. What is the address for Turner? Any other sources? Thanks.

    I had to press the stock bushing out of my bellcrank. You might have to also unless yours have been removed before. I recommend Turner- $15.98 for the whole kit with new bolts, pinch and 7/8".

    How did you find out that they had needle bearings? :? I couldn't get a pic or description other than p/n 920556 priced at $15.95.

    My son did the same job on the CJ6 today. Kit was $20 from Antelope Valley Equipment - but they are local, so no shipping costs. He was "easily" able to knock out the old bearings with a drift (it already had the needle bearing type), and there is a lot less slop in the steering now. Trouble is - the death wobble was still there - but at a higher speed now. Toe-in was apparently out of whack after the lift (he never had a chance to check it before). He's readjusted toe late this afternoon, but we haven't had a chance to road-test it yet.

    Completed my redo, my bellcrank needed the brass bushing removed first, but the kit can with all the goodies(bearings) and made a big difference. Why did I wait so long?

    Mojave;

    Checked the king pin bearings? Can cause wicked shimmy.

    Is there a difference between the 4 and 6? 920556 description says 4 cyl cj.
