i went through this when i first purchased tires, along with thinkin that i really didn't have the money for the ltb's at the time, and now i'm in the market for a new set and facing the same problem i had before... i don't know of a chain store that carries them. the only places i can think of finding them would be summit, quadratec, 4wd hardware, and places similar to those. where did the guys running them pick them up? it wouldn't be much of a deal if someone had a free shipping deal going on, but i'm not really fond of the shipping charges i'm seeing showing up on the bill.

and just in case someone knows a specific place, i'm in va beach and the jeep is in alanta. either location would be ideal for picking a set up.

There is a 4 wheel parts store in Charlotte. You might be able to pick them up at the store to save on shipping...Or they may have a location closer for you.

yep, there's one about 15 minutes from where the jeep sits in atlanta. but the after though of sales tax make the shipping worthwhile from 4 wheel parts (i was looking at 4wd with freight of 100 plus some more for shipping).

Try National Tire and Wheel in Wheeling, WV.

I'll bet their prices/shipping beats the catalog stores.

Hmmm, does Bob Supplee sell tires? I don't know, might be worth calling him as well.

picked the tires up for just under 500 plus about 40 in shipping today from 4wparts. thanks for the suggestion guys, but i went ahead and picked them up earlier today to try and make sure they get to the jeep before i make the drive down there.

chilli, thanks for listing the local shops. i'm really new to the area and haven't looked around just yet. i've seen the name pungo offroad a couple of times but didn't pay much attention based on what the sticker was on (4-5 inch lift blocks, four links connected to leaf springs, ladder bars on four links... i've seen alot of weird things with pungo stickers in my month up here).

    michigan_pinstripes I'm not lost, I'm wandering

Any local truck accessory store can get them for you if they buy from Keystone Distributing out of PA. They will have the most aggressive wholesale cost too! I ordered my spare through a local store and had it next day 8)
