ok, I'm 20 and my whole life I have wanted a cj5. preferably an early one. 69 was my limit but I really wanted a earlyone with the toolbox and snorkel cut out. Holy ****, I stumbled upon someone selling a 57 cj5 right down the street. I bought it for 600 bucks and the restoration begins. I have read a ton but need a ton of help. The jeep hasn't run in 15 years but the motor turns (slowly), and the drivetrain and transmission are good. Its been converted to power steering and has a dauntless v6 in it. the guy owned the jeep for about 30 years since he was 18. He caught some air, broke the bracket the leaf spring attaches to and put it away for 15 years. He gave me a ton of extra's inculding a spare radiator, alternator, hoses, belts, gaskets, 3 gas tanks, new exaust manifolds and custom exaust. Two extra wheels, a rebuilt carb and some other odds and ends. first things first. I would love you guys to help me identify two things initially. I will include as many pictures as need be. number one-There is a missing vacuum hose coming off the valve cover. I'm not sure where it is suppose to go. You can see the whole in my valve cover on the drivers side. does anyone know where the other end is suppose to go? I would love links to good pictures of dauntless v6's. second question-I'm not sure what kind of carb is on my jeep nor what kind of rebuilt carb the guy gave me...but I would really love to!! If anyone can Identify these two carbs and present any issues I would have swapping them, I would love you. I am hoping I may be able to use you guys as a crutch during restoration but I understand I gave you nothing so you don't owe me anything. If anyone could please help me though, I would be highly appreciative. Heres the pics of the valve cover and two carbs. :)

The carb that's on the motor is a Rochester 2G, which is what came on the 225. The one in the pic is a progressive 2 barrel, which won't work on a stock 225 manifold. The grommet (hole) in the valve cover is for the breather hose, which went to the air cleaner in a stock configuration...
    Welcome to the forum!
edit> that second carb looks like it's off a 2.8L Chevy V6... Can't remember the model off hand, but it's a Rochester as well....

    No pictures for me either...

In Safari, I get 5 little blue boxes with "?" in them.

In Firefox, nothing but the original text shows up...

In firefox I see nothing but text, no red X or squat, in IE I see little red X's. If I paste the properties into the address bar I get an Invalid attachment box. Baby Johns pictures are perfect though.
