the 300 and the 20 twinsticked with the interlock pin removed will (allegedly) work to do a front dig. It is pretty important to me, as it was a goal in the project. Will I use it all that much,, I don't know. Didn't use a welder much till I got one at home now I use it almost daily.

Well the 300 is great, but I still have to come up with an adapter. The 205 chevy adapter I have mounts on an oblong patern not round. To bad to cause the 300 without buying an adapter would be sweet!!

A cheaper solution than the front dig would be to install cutting brakes.
Will most people ever use a front dig, no not really its a gimmick that people think is cool.

Not sure how the cutting brakes will work out with spools front and rear. Likely most folks wouldn't but I have seen it used in several apps and thought I kinda liked the driving style. I may not end up with it,, But I will likely wish I would have...

run the 205 RIO, you wont regret it. i installed a divorced 205 in my buggy, i ground down the shift rails so i can get front low range, i can do front and rear burns and no installing cutting brakes only will work's if your using selectable lockers, not spools or like me welded diffs in rockwells.

the 205 has many advantages over a 300 but the biggest is the fact that most come with 32 spline outputs, your chevy might have a 30 spline front depending on the year, the early one's used 10 spline but there alot bigger than the small stuff on the 18/20. the other is the gear size them self they are big and like HP, the gearing kinda blows but if your comparing a 20 to a 205 then the gearing is the same 2 to 1, but you cant compare the strength of a 205, jason.
