I know this has probably been beat to death but what are the donor vehicles. I have seen that a early bronco will work but what else?

I used the bronco brakes, however the bronco drums DO NOT fit over the locking hub or the flanged rear axle. You need the jeep drums from a 1973-5 CJ

5 lug Wagoneer or Jeep pu axles (watch out, some PU's had 12" brakes and won't work), some DJ (postal vehicles), '72-'75 CJ's and the fronts from '76 to '78 CJ's with disc brakes. The Bronco's work also. Wherever you get them make sure they are Bendix self adjusting types. The backing plate on all the Jeep products will be stamped Bendix underneath all the grease and gunk:D . Postals all had 11" brakes on a Dana 44 in the rear, right?

Postal Jeeps only had 11 inchers from '75-'79. My '74 DJ5C parts Jeep has 10" drums. They reverted back to 9" drums with the Iron Duke-powered DJ5Ls and Ms in the early '80s.

Looks like it would be just as easy to do the disc conversion. I know where to find those parts I would have to hunt for the drum brake parts. Thanks.

No hunting neccecary, I have a complete set from a 73. Includes backing plates, drums (I will have them checked to see if they are turnable), Spindles, and hubs. Set will need wheel cylinders, shoes, hardware and probably wheel bearings (if yours are differant). I had them posted in the for sale section a while back but I think there time expired. $50 for all of it. If your interested I'll get some pics. Otherwise Nicmil sells complete setups when available.

    Hello All,
I am interested in the 11" brake conversion.
Is Nicmil a member or company?
    I have a 61 3B w/Dana 25 front.
    Thanks,
    Brad

Just a member. Sometimes I come across setups and clean them up, replace parts as needed, and sell them for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, I don't have any right now. Nickmil.
