Yes, the 64 F-100 had the Borg-Warner T-98, not sure but I would say the input or out shaft is different from a CJ T-98.

Both the input and output shaft is different. The Ford used a HUGE diameter in put shaft. That's the easiest way to tell them. Nickmil.

interals are the same and the shift tower but like said all ready the inputs and outputs are very different, my friends CJ-7 he did this swap and it cost him alot to machine an adapter to go to a dana 300 scout, ( witch share the same bolt pattern and output shaft as a model 18/20 ) i dont think AA or novack makes a kit for this particular T-98 ford.

the input could be machined down to the willys OD and spline count but would need to be 1" longer so you could make an adapter plate to bolt to the willys bell housing, the ford use's a differnt bolt pattern. you would also have to get the a smaller bearing retainer plate for the thro-out bearing to slide on, the ford's is like 1.5'' OD, it can be done but not with alot of work, unless theres a kit out there now.

when he did his it was like 4 years ago and he would never do it agin, i have put a few T-98's into jeeps ( willys ) and all i use is a T-98 out of a gladator truck, there still hard to find but easyer than a jeep model. all you have to do is send your input shaft to MOSER and they will re-machine it to the willys OD, just make it 1'' longer, you still need to make and adapter for the willys bellhousing, jason.

The mounting bolt pattern on the Ford is not the same -- it is a mirror image of the bolt pattern on the jeep.

    Thanks for all the replies.

Does anyone have a recomendation on a East coast shop that can retrofit the ford T-98 to work with my CJ5. I am currently winning an auction on Ebay so I think I am stuck with the ford tranny.

About 10 years ago I had a good local shop modify a T18 from a full-size Jeep to fit into my '71 CJ. They rebuilt the T18 and installed the shorter input shaft.
They may be able to do what you are looking for.

You can give them a shout if you want. They'e in Wrightsville, PA, about 50 miles north of Baltimore MD
