225 V6 exhaust system

    First I wanted to say thanks for the help I got regarding my past wiring problem -- ran new wires, turned the key, cranked! Still wouldn't start, but after about a total of a minute cranking/resting, it scared the bejeezus out of me by starting up. The reason I jumped so high was that the exhaust pipe is broken off right where the Y-pipe meets it, under the driver seat, so it was a little bit like my old days playing music -- couldn't hear a thing my wife said afterward! (I'm trying it again!)
    I've searched the forums, and while some folks seem to like the header solution, I'd like to keep the existing manifolds and the rear-exit exhaust (isn't that where exhaust should exit? :oops: ). I found the correct muffler and tailpipe, but of course the middle pipe is the stickler. Does anyone know if I could substitute a four-cyl mid pipe, maybe shortening it if I had to? Or, could I just get a section of that semi-flexible corrugated pipe? Never used it, so can't say how well it holds up or if it disrupts the exhaust flow. Any thoughts from you more-experienced dudes and dudettes out there?

    i have used the flex pipe,seems to last about a year before it rust and breaks. matbe there is better quality stuff out there than im using,but thier is only one place near me that carries it in stock ,i only use a 18 inch section but i buy 6 foot at a time that way i got it for quick repair.

    Just take it to a Muffler Shop and let them do it. They have the correct tube bending equipment to do the job right. I had mine done from the Manifolds to exiting out the rear behind the tires for $150.00 and that was dual exsausts to. Mark

    I made my own. Summit sells mandrel bent U and J shaped pipes in a variety of diameters. I bought a few SUM-621005 and a couple SUM-622001 and a turbo muffler. The pieces were miter cut from the J and U bends and welded together. There's one slip fit in the middle so I can install or remove it in two big pieces. It worked out great. I got the exact exhaust I wanted. Total cost was under $100.
