As I documented before...the 'jeep' 4:1 T18 I have has the 9" stickout that was used with the OEM iron adapter to AMC straight six engines, and the 'jeep' front pattern that is 8.50" across the top, 2.75" from the top to bottom hole on the driver's side and 4.62" top to bottom on the passenger.

So I've narrowed my options down to two adapters:
This Novak 1415 adapter kit - it says it's for jeep T14/15/18 to GM bell.
    https://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog...ransmission/gm/jeep-t18-bh-adapters/kit-1415/
    What I am uncertain about:
    1) I assume with GM bell compatibility, it's also good with 225v6 BOP bell?
    2) the transmission front bolt pattern....the pic doesn't really show compatibility with the jeep T18 bolt pattern? Also, I didn't think the T14/15 bolt pattern was the same as the T18 - and since this piece is compatible with all 3 transmissions, I would expect the multiple bolt patterns to be included in the adapter.

2nd option is AA sells this adapter
    https://www.advanceadapters.com/4595
it seems to show the option of using a jeep T18 bolt pattern in the 711521 plate. Pretty certain this one will work, just the Novak adapter is quite a bit cheaper.

Waiting on response from Novak about their adapter compatibility....Both companies adapters are about the same thickness (the AA one is 1.5" despite the typo error in the description that says only .5").

Any of you have first hand knowledge of either of these adapters? Thanks....

Maybe check with Parts Mike and see when his short input shafts will be back in stock.
This should let you use the BOP bell without adapters in between. Just mod the front of the trans case to match the BOP bolt pattern.

    http://www.partsmike.com/index.php/products/t19-16d-t-18-23-tooth-short-input

This input is specific to the 4:1 unit.

I have a good used AA T18 to GM bell adapter kit.
    With all its pieces.
I can save you a small wad if my adapter fits your need.
    Let me get this straight.
You wanna go from 9” stickout T18 into to a Dauntless bell ?
I’ll go measure to be certain and take a couple pics for you.
Or If you want a 6.32 T18 I would be interested in a even Steven trade.

Sorry the 1/2” thick kit I have is for bolting a Jeep 6.32 ratio to a GM bell.

They've been out of stock for almost 2 years....but I've never talked to him directly about it. AA has this supposedly 23t short input shaft, but they can't really confirm what it's for....it seems REALLY short if OAL is only 9.1"
    https://www.advanceadapters.com/4622

Assuming I can get the 23t short input, going directly to the bop bell seems to require the additional mounting tabs/ears often found on T18 cases (unlike ken, I am not up for welding ears onto the cast iron case)....in the case I have pictured above, you can see it does not have those tabs, and the only info I have about direct mounting to the bell is for Ford t18 from Novak discussion here: https://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/adapters/engine-to-transmission/gm/ford-to-gm/
I think Roy made a jeep pattern fit direct to bop bell on his 71....but possible it was a Ford case. I think he ended up using something like the brackets shown in the Novak discussion to make it work without the extra ears....or to reinforce the mount that threads into thin aluminum section of the bell.

In terms of OAL, using one of the adapters places the 4:1 T18 pretty much in the same place as it would have been in its original intermediate CJ application that used the cast iron adapter. Obviously, it won't make the set up as short as possible, but swapping out the rear D18 bearing cap for non park brake saves almost an inch (makes it more like the OEM set up with d20)....

Obviously It's not the ratio that is the issue, but rather the input shaft length....I assume with 1/2 spacer and typical GM bell depth, this is a short input shaft. 6.32 ratio came in a variety of input shaft lengths, but probably none in the 9" stickout. I think that short adapter is the route doug took last year.
I know you've posted this before....I'd be open to trade, but just no way of getting the items actually transported half way across the country without breaking the bank.

I was following the Novak GM to Ford T-18 procedure you linked to on a Ford case. I didn't like how Novak wants you to drill and tap the lower passenger bolt into a non-webbed part of the bellhousing, so I made a bridge to go between the tabs on the transmission an pick up the original bellhousing bolt.

    The webbing in the bellhousing:

My bridge. The upper bolt of the bridge is where Novak wants you to drill/tap the bellhousing:

I have no experience with Jeep cases.

Yep, mine looks like the adapter that Ken posted. It's worked out well for me.
Anyone coming to CO in August, through Missouri?

    Perhaps a long shot but…….
I’m heading out to the Colorado fall color tour in September in case you know anyone from your area headed down there.

I was thinking Scott.....STL is a bit out of his way, and he'd have to do it in both directions

As long as scott doesn't show up at my work with a U-haul to load with ovens... I'll see Ken after the Colorado epic.

The standard short GM input shaft stickout is only 6.5". That short input shaft with gear being only 9.1" sounds about right to me.

What about having a local shop weld bosses into your bell housing to utilize the stock lower mounting locations on the front of the trans?
I've see plenty of welded aluminum GM bell housings, wouldn't be hard to add bosses where needed.

Fino, in case you wanna swap this is the one I can haul to Colo.
    It’s a Ford 6.32.
The main shaft was changed over to a Jeep main shaft and the rear of case was drilled/ tapped to accept the Jeep D18/20 adapter plate.
Front of this transmission is still all standard Ford right now. So the extra holes to fit a GM still need be drilled out and the bearing retainer needs be turned down a tad to fit GM.
No new parts in it. Have it for sale at $400 but not listed anywhere.

Seems as though it is....but these 'short' 4:1 input shafts are only Ford, thus meshing that into the remaining jeep gears requires some additional parts.... according to Nick from some of my previous threads on this topic....
If you can find one a Ford T-19 23 tooth input can be used in a T-18 if you use a matching 3/4 synchronizer assembly, 3rd gear, blocking rings, and input bearing. Many late Ford T-18’s had the correct parts to do this. Been there, done that for customers on request. Works quite well if you don’t need the 6.32-1 first gear.

That's not quite a simple as just swapping input shafts....the unavailable Parts Mike shaft is Ford T18/19, and thus requires all the stuff Nick mentions. AA has never been able to clarify if their 23t short shaft is Ford or jeep....
Took a little digging back in my old threads as to why I had narrowed my options down to the two adapters....

I think 1976 was the only year Jeep put a short maindrive onto a narrow ratio CJ T18.
But was possibly used as late as 1979 ? ? ?
Anyway it’s a 23 tooth gear, part number 8126875 and measures 10” OAL.
Subtract 2-5/8 to get your stickout length of 7-3/8”
It has an extra long pilot that can easily be shortened

If I were you, I would ditch the Jeep 4:1 T-18 and find a cheap Ford 6.32 one. Switch the adapter/mainshaft to the Ford.

To me, It doesn't really seem worth the size and weight of a truck 4 speed to not use the advantage of having granny gear, but I know you've put a lot of thought in the 4:1 transmission. ....it also has the advantage of parts availability as you are finding out.

Or pull that long input out take it to a machine shop with a 6:32 short input and say " make it look like this"
Ymmv I tried to get a long input shortened, my guy gave up after 3 broken bits. Said the hardening on these things are all over the place. Some are hard some soft.
I know a guy that has a Ford T18 coming out of a 7 with a 300 adapter this fall  might even doorstop deliver it spring '25

I did have synchro issues with mine when I changed out the input shaft. There's 2 different thicknesses for the blocking ring. I just had to order a different thickness blocking ring for the synchro & it worked.
