My 60 cj5 has a pto winch, the pto driveshaft runs where the exhaust should go. I read somewhere of running the exhaust similar to a WW2 jeep with the oval muffler under the tool box. Has anyone done this? Can i just buy an exhaust for the WW2 and bolt that on or should I have one made? Any one with pictures of how they run their’s would be great. Currently using flex pipe to connect stock pipes but it hangs low and is hard to seal.

Flex pipe was the recommended answer in the instal instruction, for Ramsey at least. Winch in the front or back? What engine?

I got my winch in the front to work with a two piece driveshaft & a slightly tweaked F4 exhaust pipe.

Koenig has us heat and bend the front pipe out and down slightly, then clamp straight-pipe routed below the cross-member. Easy enough, but leaves the exhaust exposed to rock damage.

On my CJ doodlebug, I turned the exhaust 90º and ran it across the jeep - just on top of the front of the skid plate. Well protected. Worked good until the leaked transmission oil and dead leaves caught light. ("Daddy...we're on fire". :D)

Rock damage is the main concern. I have flattened the modified pipe that came on it and a couple flex pipes I made. Over the front of the skid plate is how the mb's were I believe. what I was wondering if anyone has bought ann mb exhaust system from a parts supplier and tried to fit it on a later jeep.

FWIW, I ran my PTO shaft up the passenger side above the transfer case. :sneak: Up high and away from anything. But I have a ramsey pto and ramsey winch. The pto can be clocked however I wanted it and the winch could be taken apart and swapped around.

I've often thought the easiest answer would be a custom skid pan, under the modified pipe where it is below the cross-member.

I would want a little larger pipe for an f-134 with a driver side muffler and loop the exhaust below the frame just behind the spring hanger.

This is how I ran my exhaust on my '48 CJ2A. Sure made it easy for the front drive shaft routing.
