Partly because of people like us who like and promote old jeeps?

Plus, thousand$ are the new hundred$, in every direction I look.

Isn't that the truth! Really gives "value" to what you already have.

At that price, I've scrapped out hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of junk.

    Who knew?

The thing I scrapped were definitely unusable. More like parted out.
But people would still try to sell them.
Lined up a trailer to get a $50 rusted out Jeep for parts.
Called the guy, and he said, they were going to sell it for a lot more.
Glad I hadn't left on the long trip. I imagine it rotted into the ground right where it was.

I'll say it's much to do with emotional attachment...it's obvious he's hitched to the Scout!

Called a guy on an old Jeep that was for sale. Sat outside an old garage for half a year or more. Very rotted out. Guy says he wants to sell it and put $3000 into rebuilding the engine. I say, "OK, I can't spend that much, maybe $500 to $600 dollars. It sits with no top for another 6 months. I call him up again and he says he wants to sell it. Again I say well, I can only give you 5 to 6 hundred. He got so mad over the phone, calling me names and told me not to ever call him again. I say, "Yes Sir, I take your number out of my phone right now." Years later, I see it (Same one) at an auto show with sign, Highest offer gets it. I kept on walking.
Don't know what happened to it. I get the attachment and if you don't want to take the offer fine, but don't get angry because you overpriced the vehicle.

You can blame the Internet and YouTube. Everyone thinks they have a gold mine because of the ability to reach such a large audience.
The good old days are gone. Not all bad but not all good either.
