Carburetor

Good evening folks!
I’ve read through about all of the previous threads on the topic but none seem to be recent. My carburetor on my 225 is shot. Rebuilding doesn’t help. I think it’s simply worn out. I am having difficulty finding a suitable 2g to replace it. What is a suitable aftermarket carb to replace it. I have a linkage for throttle and an oil bath air cleaner. Ideally I would like to keep both, however I would be more determined to keep the throttle linkage since I don’t want to chance peddle and all. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

The linkages are wore badly. I had to solder the choke to make it work (the rod that turns the butterfly came lose from the end linkage). It has a hesitation that cannot be tuned out and just overall does not have good performance like it once did. I have put two different carb kits in it and unfortunately they did very little. Sadly it is just completely wore out. I’m sure someone more skilled than I could overall it but it’s awfully rough to start with.

I’ve been considering the Weber conversion but it seems I would have to change my throttle linkage over to cable. Not sure how that would go. Also since my Jeep is mostly original I like to keep things that way if possible. I do value functionally over originality though. They’re no good if you can’t drive them!

This. The rochester is good and common to a lot of GM. The bushings at the throttle butterflies is a common vacuum leak as stated above. Redid one on a Motorcraft several years ago
