Can we talk about the front, driver’s side bolt on the Rochester 2G? It’s a COMPLETE pain in the rear to remove or install… Has anyone come up with a better process for this? May be easier with studs in the intake, instead of bolts? If so, does anyone have a part number for the studs?

    Any other ideas?

So I have always loosened it with a box end, then use a 1/4" square drive "breaker bar" with a socket u-joint to spin it in & out. The real problem is if the bolt has been in a long time the exhaust in the pre-heat chamber under the carb base will eat up the threads. Putting a stud in might work in the short term but when the exhaust eats the threads you'll be up a creek.

If you take the top of first along with the linkage, I think you can get right on it

I used a generic carb stud kit from the auto parts store.

I’ve used a wobble socket also. I think I needed to move the linkage around a bit.

Might be able to loosen it with a crow foot.

Me too. Studs are much easier.
