I really do hate Bed liner unless it is in a pickup bed but I am fixing up an old Meyer top and got to thinking. I also hate how loud metal tops can be so maybe I could deaden the noise by spraying a light colored liner on the inside of the top. I would paint the outside so it looked correct. Have any of you tried this and if so, did it help with the noise and echos inside ?

bedliner won't do much. If you're going to try to spray something inside for noise, use something meant for it, like lizardskin.

Depends on the bed liner, but I have found it to be pretty good for limiting the “ring” factor of metal structures. My Duplicolor liner has hardened over the last 16 years, but was better when it was newer. Raptor liner has seemed OK, but I don’t have long term experience with it, and professional bed liners like Rhino and LineX are even better but pricey. It may not do much for ambient vehicle noise, but it may limit metal squeaks, rattles, and rings.

I don't know about noise, but I have line-x on the interior/floors of my TJ, and it didn't do much for heat. It has held up fantastic for about over 14 years now

I have the Meyer hard top as well. I actually just used Duplicolor Truck bed liner and it matched up to the existing color and texture really well. I only did the rear hatch door, as I was replacing and repainting the interior and upgrading the latching hardware then coating the outside with the liner. I think it matched up really quite well

I recently saw a Jeep where the whole thing inside and out was sprayed with bed liner which was falling off the rusty metal in sheets. If it is applied correctly and not over rust I suppose it holds up well, at least the bed in my truck held up well with Bullet Liner, but when it is not applied correctly and has to be removed it is a real PITA to clean that mess up. I hate the stuff.

I have no experience on the road, but this is the tintable product from Dominion. It was relatively easy to apply, although there were some patches that I’m going to have to redo because it went on too thick. I did the under surface of the tub and the inside of the bed, but I’m using regular 2KU paint on the outside panels.
