I wish. That would get torn off here in the first hour. I don't even use a roll bar because I'm so often sneaking under down trees, etc., with the windshield down.

But they are rather large to mount on a CJ. Sometime I contemplate cutting it into four sections and stowing it in the toolbox under the passenger seat.

That is indeed interesting. I fabricate a lot of my own jacking gear, and will being giving brain-space to this idea.

Somewhat along the same line but bigger, I've found ways to use a 'lally column' slipped over a farm jack for jacking at overhead heights, and it thus is similarly adjustable.

That was a example where there was no tree close enough to hook to and with the deep snow and frozen ground there was no way I could drive my anchor in enough to hold my winch hook.

I did think that there might not have been a close enough tree, but darn sure didn't think about the ground being frozen. Definitely hasn't been a problem down here. :D

I carry this little scissor jack for changing a flat tire. Helluva lot safer than changing a tire with a high lift. Easily picks up a tire on my CJ with 33's.
    $25 on Amazon.

The only dumps around here, you have to pay, and they prohibit scavenging. Plus, rooting through trash looking for one? No thanks!

Scissor jacks work well because they are very low when completely down. They are also generally lighter than a bottle jack and just a little more awkward to stow. Obviously an order of magnitude or two less awkward to stow than a HiLift and they do not bleed down.

I still carry my original stock jack in my 3B and that has served me well over the years. Very compact and there is no problem getting 33" tires off the ground. I have it mounted under the hood in a spring loaded bracket I fabricated. I also carry a bottle jack. Those are really handy for straightening out bent stuff like tie rods.

I made mounts for my spare tire carrier and mounted it at an angle for vertical clearance. Used lug nuts to hold it on so I can use the star wrench to get it off.
I have used it once to get diff off a rock when I high centered it. I also carry a bottle jack and scissor jack under the seat for changing tire.
