Fuel Pump Connection

Maybe a dumb question, but I am using this fitting to step down my fuel pump’s 3/8 inlet to the 5/16 fuel line coming from my tank. Do I need hose clamps on each side like I would if it I were putting hose over hard line with a bubble flare in the end?

Follow up question (there is always a follow up w question!):
The flares at the end of the old fuel lines where they connect to rubber hose appear to be single bubble flares. Everything I have read/watched indicates that you should always use a double flare, but the double bubble flare is almost too flat and thick to slide into the fuel injection hose. It feels like it is deforming the inner surface of the hose.
Should I use single or double bubble flares where connecting hose to pipe with a hose clamp?

Scoutpilot, who knows his stuff, says double clamps are the minimum acceptable. Hard line and fittings preferred. I agree, although i don't always do it.

 

Technically I think where the hard line is connected to rubber line, the hard line has a “bead”. There are special tools to do that but from a practical point, a single bubble flare is pretty darn close and should work just fine.
