Ih T18

Anyone here ever used a T18 out of an International in a Jeep? I bought T18/D18 yesterday. I am wondering if there is a Jeep application for this transmission. I picked this up for the Dana 18 and really have no use for the transmission. Curious if someone has used one in a Jeep and what did they have to do to make it work. I have an SM420 that was given to me that I will adapt to the Dana 18.

but nick told me . the IH adapter on rear clocked the transfer case a little more to right
if your doing a twin stick change over

 

I used the just the IH output shaft from their T18.....swapped it into a early 80's Ford T18.

 

Twin 2, The d18 is already a twin stick, 1-1/8" intermediate shaft, I was looking for an 1-1/4" intermediate t case, but this deal came up and I didn't want to pass it up.
Wheelie, why was it necessary to swap the output shaft?

 

The stock Ford output shaft was wrong for the Dana 18 6 spline bull gear and was way too long. The IH output was a match.

Trying to remember why I couldn't just use the Scout T18 but it escapes me. Has to be something with mating it up to the bell housing/engine.

 

I think the scout case makes it hard to bolt to the v6 bell housing.

 

Didn't TimGR do a huge write up about T-18s over in the intermediate section?

You can use the Scout output shaft and adapter on a Ford T18.
This is the swap I did.
