    Will a 258 6 cyl from a 1983 cj5 directly bolt in to my 1972 cj5?

    I don’t know the exact answer… not too familiar with the late models. But I think, Yes. Read this article. You can always call them as well.

    Depends on what engine the 72 came with.
    If it came with a 232 or 258 then yes a direct bolt in.
    If it came with a 304 then the passenger side motor mount must be changed and likely some of the wiring too.
