Hello, Would anyone happen to know the thread size of the spindle or perhaps the part number of the adapter that connects to a slide hammer for removal of the spindle on the front of a '74 cj5 (Dana 30)?

    Learned something new.
    Never new that tool existed.
Not that I might need it out west.
    Cool nonetheless.

If your 74 is like my 73 was just bump the spindles up and down a couple times and it should start working its way out of the knuckle. On my 30 and 44 I never used a puller.

The last time I had my 30 apart in the 3b, I was hitting those spindles so hard with a sledgehammer over a block of wood that I thought for sure it was making them oval. That tool would’ve been nice.

And yes, it started life in PA.

No, attaches to a slide hammer, aka blister maker/finger masher. Ron

The tool is worth every penny. I have two, one in my toolbox at work and one in my toolbox at home. Never regretted spending the money. Like Nate said, I’ve used them on 25, 27, 30, 44, and 60 spindles.

I’m fixing to dig into my D30 axle. I put the tool in my Amazon wish list. I’ll be delayed for days waiting for this since I didn’t “order now”.

Speaking of front spindles does anyone know where to purchase a 1/2 inch drive socket to fit the spindle nuts?

If you haven't done yet, I suggest switching to this
    th.jpe
    With the corresponding wrench.
