75 Cj5 Seats

I found original seat brackets for my 75 cj5, it's like winning the lottery to find these. Now trying to find original seats, not a easy thing to do. My question has anybody found seats ( used or new) that will bolt to original brackets without modification? Would still like to find original seats eventually.

 

I used the Rugged Ridge / Omnix as a temp seat. As I work on restoring my originals. The driver will mount directly up to the jeep frame. Just drilled/tapped new holes on the seats. The Passenger I had to make an adapter of sorts since it's frame doesn't line up with the jeep frame. Again. just a temporary thing so not fancy at all. But got the job done while I continue working the other seats. I have seen the original seats sold on Ebay and FB Marketplace. There is a guy in Massachusetts that seems to sell a ton of old jeep parts. He had a full set about 2 months ago. Came out of a 74 I think.

 

Do you have a number or address for the guy in MA?

 

Sorry I don't... I just found a few adds from him on FB Marketplace. But didn't keep them. Search FB you'll probably come across his adds. He was near the Cape.

 

Chris'74 did you get the low backs and if you did do you remember the part #?

 

Off hand I don't recall the part number. Got them from Summit Racing. Yep went half backs. Again just temporary seats for now. They are nice seats. I'll be selling them in February I hope. That is when my factory seats should be done.

You are right, those pesky brackets are hard to find, the seats that will bolt directly in are not too hard to find, made by Bestop, and by smittybilt, they are not exact but look pretty close to original..
