The Little Green Lens

Does anyone reproduce the lens for one of these?

 

I remember somewhere that someone took a green beer bottle and ground it up to fit.

 

I have an extra Sparten turn signal I think, I will look for it today. Trade you covers if I have it, PM me if you want it. Rick

 

I made one out of an " excedrin" bottle.. That is not spelled right, but it was a pill bottle. Works and looks like original..

 

I have one with the green lens missing and have been thinking about what would work.

I like the idea of using a piece from a pill bottle as that would be easier to work with than the glass from a beer bottle. I don't guess it has to be green, could be amber if cut from a prescription pill bottle. Could be red if cut from an old taillight lens.

I thought about cutting a piece out of a lens from a cheap pair of sun glasses, or the green visor from an old farmer's straw hat. I am an old farmer, so may find an old hat somewhere in my stuff.

 

Don't waste a hat , pill bottles are plentiful and easy to shape..

 

I think I have a Spartan with a blue lens. Anyone else see one with blue instead of green?

Come to think of it, my veterinarian sometimes prescribes meds for my dog and the pharmacy puts them in a simi transparent green plastic bottle. Ask your druggist.

i've got the lens, but it's pretty crusty, and possibly only partly there.

 

Green or blue Petg will do the trick. extra slow and toasty should get a nice result. I'm just not likely to get to model or test it before fall. There is a heater torn apart up there for a month now...

 

Iv got these two the lenses look good $20 each
