Woke up this morning to a fine coating of ash on my Jeep... no painting will happen today. Colorado has decided that no painting will take place in the near future, wtf.... haha

That’s the drawback to an open air shop. Stay safe.

What are you using for paint?

I am using rustoleum topside (bright red), thinned about 10% with acetone, and Majic Catalyst Hardener. I have heard good things about the topside paint and it's supposed to be fairly UV resistant as a marine paint. I hope that's the case, we'll see. I'm not terribly nice to my paint with all of the trail time this jeep sees, so the ability to do touch-ups with a brush was a big selling point.

So the main portion of the painting is done... portions of the windshield will be done by hand and the hood will be finished tomorrow. Almost there.

Agreed. For as bad as that thing was I'm amazed you fixed it so well without even pulling the body off the frame. it should last for many years now and look good doing it.

It's finally becoming a Jeep again! Still have some small bits to paint and install, as well as some more POR 15 to put into the fender wells. Decided to replace all of the interior screws with stainless bolts, no idea why I have dealt with those dumb screws this long.

We are running again! Filled up the fluids and started right up. Slowly getting all the little things put back together.

I love it! But for my own sanity you really need to remove the hood hinges and latches and paint them black. Pretty please????:madwife:

Huh, didn't know they were supposed to be black. I just put it all back together, so I don't think I will be removing anything to paint more any time soon.

I wish I still had my tire carrier like the one you have there. Your jeep is coming together nicely, keep up the good work!

More things are back together and I spent most of the day trying to fix a little off-idle sputter it's wanting to have. It's driveable again now, just fine tuning from here.
