Interested to see what you do for a retaining type 'ring' or edge around the outside of the boot. Looks good.

I looked for plates for you both when I was in Port Townsend, WA over the weekend. I went to a very cool place there called The Garage.

I just swapped out the aluminum sign at the end of our road, so I’ve got a fresh supply of Al plate. I’ll probably just cut some square rings, polish them up, and drill and tap the floor to accept them.

This is just sooo wrong. One person shouldn't have your mechanical and fab skills and be able to sew too!

Seriously looks great. (y)(y) It would be nice to see it in real leather.:)

The similarities to welding are hard to ignore. It’s not much of a jump from welding to sewing.

This machine came with a complete monogramming set. I thought about going a little decoratively overboard on these boots. :D

My first 77 cj5 was a rust bucket. I plated the entire outside with street signs with pop rivets that were countersunk and covered with bondo. I had a guy with a brake bend my wheel houses.

When I hit a telephone pole sideways at night, the street signs that were bent outward reflected the sign!

I have a machine in the garage waiting for a room / table to set it up on and learn how it works. My mom was an expert seamstress, but I guess teaching boys wasn't the thing to do.

I have several one over a hundred years old foot powered. And a late 40 s walking foot from a gm plant that will sew through plywood or your fingers working on a top this fall.

my walking foot will do the same...cant tell you how many "HOLY CRAP" that was close moments ive had.
past machine wasn't a walking foot but was a sail making machine...stupid fast even after I had the motor pully turned down...that one got scary sometimes when in a hurry
maybe there should be a sewing/machine thread as weve hijacked ITLKSEZ'S thread with woman's work talk
