Firewall

    I am going to strengthen my fiberglass firewall. I do not have the money to have the engine rebuilt and a new tub.So I decided to fix the firewall myself. My plan is to use 2 pieces of 16 gauge sheet metal one on each side and sandwich the firewall. I took closer look at the firewall and found these cracks, where the master cylinder goes.The crack only goes about half way thru. If I sandwich this together will I be ok?

    yup sheetmetal on both sides with through bolts
