79 Renegade...clone??

I know this subject has been beat to death, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for in a forum search.

I'm going to be looking at a 79 Renegade with "new paint." How do I know if this is a clone or not (not that I really care too much.) Are there any stand out items to look for on the dash or something? Also, I've seen a lot of references in the forums to Renegade 1 and Renegade 2. Were those variations in years or something?

John – The 79 Renegade performance package includes denim front bucket seats, color-keyed interior, five 8” painted spoked wheels (L78 OWL) and exterior decal and tape treatments. An addiction to the above there were many other options that one could add. I hope this helps.

 

Thanks for the info. Chuck, I notice the helo in your signature picture...do you fly? I used to fly helo's before I "saw the light."
