Take a look at these pics for me.

To me it looks like a t98/dana18 with a BOP bellhousing.

If you guys can confirm that, I'm going to buy it this week because I'm thinking this will bolt up to my 225.

Looks legit to me. Probably needs a rebuild.

Pretty sure all the Jeep transmission-to-transfer-case adapters were cast iron, and this looks like aluminum. Therefore, it seems likely that the adapting was done at that end. You can adapt a Ford transmission to a GM bell under some circumstances without significant machining - Novak has a page about this: The Novak Guide to the Adapting Ford Style Transmissions to GM Engines

I kinda thought the T-98 was different and did not allow this type of conversion, but maybe not.

Methinks there's nothing wrong with a T-98 vs. a T-18, other than the obsolescence of the former. If it's going to bolt up, heck yeah.

That certainly a 1979 or later Ford T18.
    A BOP bell and a Jeep Dana 18 .

Appears left sitting out in elements.
    Hopefully not full of water.
I'd take the top cover off and look inside.

That looks like a very early Brown & Lipe transfer case (as opposed to Spicer) from the tag on it. That likely has the small first generation intermediate shaft. Also, only three bolts mounting the bellhousing?

I've not heard of the brown and lipe transfer cases before.

I'm going to go look at it on Thursday, so I'll pop the cover, look at the trans to bellhousing bolts, transfercase adapter, transfercase id plate, etc.

The aluminum tag on top identifies it as Brown/ Lipe.
Brown/ Lipe was a subsiiary of Dana Spicer.
They were used through the 40’s and into the early 50’s.
That implies it is a 2.43 ratio with a 26 tooth input.
IMHO they are slightly inferior when compared to the 1954 or later D18 transfer cases.
