Hi All, I have been scrubbing away at these and wanted to find out if they are in usable shape. The spindle to the far left is off of a drum set up and the two to the right are off of a disk. The center one looks like it lost a roller and got tossed around in there.
Also - file under stupid, but is my bracket on in the right direction? I have googled everywhere and I constantly see the darn dust shield in the way1 Thank you. Please boot me outta here if this is more of an intermediate post. Cheers.

I'm a cheapskate, but I'd say the only issue is if the innermost surface (for the grease seal) is passable.

I see. Thanks Pete. I would rather/need to spend the money elsewhere on the axle. I will take a closer look on the inside, bearing side of the spindle.
Is my bracket on the right way? haha thanks again!

X2 I'd run them. As a side note, while the spindles are interchangeable drum to disc the machined seal surface is slightly different and the seal #'s are different. Get the seal # appropriate for the spindle regardless of drum/ disc.

Sorry, I've never had disc brakes.

As an aside, I did once buy a J-truck that had bent spindles. Something to check if you suspect abuse.

I'm going to change my answer to I can't tell for sure. It might need to be flipped over. Trying to compare it with what I have on the 3B but not sure after looking again.

The spindles could have been abused (hit) while being freed from the knuckles. I bought a pair off ebay which had the threaded end smashed - they sent me another pair. If the bearings fit and the seal surface is ok I would use them. I think you have the caliper bracket right. I have a pair which I just looked at and it appears they were installed with the offset towards the center of the Jeep. I could see which surface had been towards the spindle from the rust marks.

Hey Guys thanks! Framer M - threads r perfect. Its really just the surface is pitted some. Inside diameters look perfect as well. I was thinking the same as far as the bracket. So do we think the 'clean surface' was matted to the spindle flange and the rusted side would have been on the rotor side? Would make sense since there would be a gap for the knuckle nuts. Thanks again!!!

Thanks! That makes sense. Are the spindle bearings the same for the drum or disk version? Also - are the HUBS interchangeable with the spindles?
    Appreciate it guys!
