IMG_0842.JPG I finally decided to service the wheel bearings and take a look at the brakes on my 56 CJ5. I knew that they had been upgraded many years ago but the PO wasn't sure exactly what was done. You can see from the pics that it has the old excentric adjustment pins but the hold down clips look foreign to me. These are 11" brakes and the drum and hub appear to be one piece. Exactly the same setup front and rear - full floating rear with locking hubs. Can anyone tell me what these might have come off? Not looking to make any changes at this point, just doing a quick service and adjustment.

Willys wagon? I remember a long time ago looking for 11 brakes in the wrecking yards seeing some narrow ones on wagons that had the eccentrics and no star adjusters.

I agree, probably wagon or truck. They are the same setup as the CJ 9" brakes.

Early FCs came with 11" cam adjust brakes also.

IMG_0883.JPG IMG_0882.JPG Thanks everyone. Now that I know what parts will work - it looks like all of the early wagons and trucks used the same brakes - I decided to go through all of the brakes. Pulled everything apart, had the drums turned, blasted the backing plates, and ordered all new brakes, hardware, seals, and wheel cylinders.

Agreed, since my Jeep is such a mish mash of parts I keep a small note book in the glove box with P/N's, descriptions etc....

Thanks. The doors were on the Jeep when I bought it. They are fiberglass. The PO had a YJ hard top on it with custom canvas panels that snapped on to keep the weather out while parked.
