    Same bellhousing pattern...but that's all.
Everything else will need to be changed.

There were Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Chevrolet 350's.
    All completely different engines.

if it's a olds 350 . starter will be on drivers side . not a lot of room over there with ross steering and master cylinder . but any engine swap is possible . just won't be a drop in and bolt up

Heavy, compared to a v6 even a Buick 350 comes in 100lbs under the olds and Chevy small blocks.

Sorry to jump in on this thread - What is the most simple engine conversion into a V8 from the Dauntless?

Buick 350. Still have some clearance issues with radiator but mounts and trans dont need anything. Shouldnt be any clearance issues with firewall either

I have had a couple Olds 350s. As said above, won't work with original ross steering. You have to go to saginaw and swinging pedals. Really heavy motor. Just about everything on them is specific to the motor if I remember right. Not easy to find replacement parts either. At least it wasn't several years ago when I was looking.

If you need a flywheel (as opposed to a flex plate), the Olds version is far more scarce. 99.9% of Olds 350s will have a flex plate. You may consider either rebuilding the 225, or find a later 231 even fire from a mid-80s rwd Buick.

Pamela - I am going through the process of deciding on a rebuild of my 225 or replacing with something else. If replacement is the option, Ken (Oldtime) has a 231 even fire that would make a pretty good drop in for sale in the classified - guessing you are a lot closer than I if your in IN. Looks like much of the electronic stuff has been replaced with mechanical which makes it easier. If you are specifically looking for a V8 then just ignore this....

If my block is good I will probably lean towards a rebuild, but the cost will get your attention for sure. Good luck.
